Ranking the 10 best Carolina Panthers players from 2022 season
D.J Moore – Carolina Panthers WR
- 63 receptions
- 888 receiving yards
- 7 touchdowns
This was D.J Moore’s first season without 1,000 receiving yards since his rookie year. But do not let that fool you – he was the Carolina Panthers’ best offensive weapon in 2022.
Going through three different starting quarterbacks and playing in a run-heavy scheme after Week 7, Moore still produced explosive plays and was the biggest part of Carolina’s passing attack in games where they needed to throw the ball frequently.
After Steve Wilks became the interim head coach, Moore produced 46 catches, 691 receiving yards, and six touchdowns in 12 games. This represents superb production, especially considering the signal-callers he had and the amount of running plays Carolina called with Ben McAdoo running the offense.
The Maryland product entered the NFL with incredible run-after-catch ability. Moore has now developed into a deep target and a player who can run any route in the tree.
With a probable upgrade under center on the way, Moore will likely return to his usual production next time around. Providing the right improvements are made at football’s most important position, there is potential for the former first-round pick to enter top-10 consideration league-wide after getting a handsome payday last summer.
