Carolina Panthers could hire Frank Reich

Another strong candidate that warrants serious consideration is Frank Reich. The respected figure is looking for an immediate avenue back into head coaching after being fired by the Indianapolis Colts in 2022, which was probably a blessing in disguise considering the current state of affairs across the organization.

Reich has bundles of legitimate NFL coaching experience. He’s a sound offensive mind with a proven track record of success – something the Carolina Panthers sorely lacked when Matt Rhule held absolute power.

While this might not be the sexy appointment, Reich could have a similar impact to that of Doug Pederson with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Although it’s worth remembering that the Panthers don’t have a quarterback like Trevor Lawrence on their roster currently.

This would be a safe call for David Tepper to make. He’s gone bold in the past with little success and even though Carolina recently interviewed Sean Payton, there are far too many problems to strongly consider this possibility.

That’s not set in stone, obviously. But the compensation demanded by the New Orleans Saints coupled with the control Payton probably wants in terms of playing personnel makes this notion a pipedream.

Reich is a different story. And it wouldn’t be a shock to see him get a second interview.
