What key traits does Frank Reich bring to the Carolina Panthers after securing the head coaching gig in 2023 and beyond?

After a thorough search for a new head coach, the Carolina Panthers chose Frank Reich as the man to lead them moving forward. Although many fans were disappointed not to see Steve Wilks get the job long-term, this does not detract from what the former quarterback could bring if the right reinforcements are acquired this offseason.

Reich’s time with the Indianapolis Colts faded quickly thanks in no small part to suspect quarterback moves in the wake of Andrew Luck’s shock retirement. Something that the Panthers were all too familiar with throughout Matt Rhule’s disastrous reign.

It’ll be interesting to see how Reich approaches some key matters alongside other influential figures such as general manager Scott Fitterer this spring. But there is a real chance the coach can hit the ground running if everything goes well throughout his first preparation period in the role.

Hopes are high for a new era that comes with untold potential. With this in mind, here are four key traits Reich brings to the Panthers as head coach.

Frank Reich brings experience to the Carolina Panthers

One of the key objectives for team owner David Tepper was finding a new head coach with legitimate NFL experience. Something that was almost essential after his gamble on Matt Rhule failed in spectacular fashion.

Frank Reich has been around the game for decades. He is highly respected in league circles and knows how to successfully run an NFL franchise, which is exactly what the Carolina Panthers need after so much turmoil.
