Carolina Panthers staff under Frank Reich

Frank Reich has strong contacts around the league. This will come in handy as the head coach looks to mold a coaching staff capable of getting the Carolina Panthers back to prominence.

While the prospect of retaining Chris Tabor and James Campen cannot be ruled out given their immediate impact in 2022, Reich will cast his net far and wide in pursuit of filling prominent positions effectively. David Tepper is also the NFL’s second-richest owner, so money should be no object to get some first-class coaches on board.

Reich brought this up during his first interview with Panthers.com reporter Kristen Balboni. The former Indianapolis Colts head coach indicated Tepper is fully committed to bringing the NFL’s best position coaches to Carolina, which would be extremely welcome after so much turnover before and after Matt Rhule’s firing.

Of all the unknown quantities on the list, this one should be the first to resolve. What appointments the Panthers make is another matter entirely.

One comfort for the Panthers is Reich’s previous experience in assembling progressive coaches. Nick Sirianni – who comes from his coaching tree – is now an NFC champion with the Philadelphia Eagles, so the potential is evident.
