Which players on the lookout for new deals should the Carolina Panthers adopt a ‘wait and see’ approach with during the 2023 offseason?

The Carolina Panthers made a bold move by appointing Frank Reich as their new head coach. This is the first step in what’s going to be a franchise-altering off-season period for the organization.

There are many pivotal decisions awaiting the Panthers. What conclusions those in power make will shape their short and long-term future one way or another.

Plenty of fresh faces will be coming on board, one suspects. The future of those already on the roster is also a topic to keep a close eye on over the weeks and months ahead.

On this topic, we picked out four players whom the Panthers should avoid giving new deals in 2023.

After getting a huge opportunity with the Carolina Panthers in 2022, the future of Yetur Gross-Matos looks murkier than ever. His 2.5 sacks when playing opposite Brian Burns on the defensive front was a disaster, especially given Haason Reddick emerged as a Defensive Player of the Year candidate and NFC champion after those in power let him walk in free agency.

Gross-Matos has one year remaining on his rookie deal. The Panthers will add to their pass-rushing options this spring, but extending the one-time Penn State standout before time is absolutely out of the question.
