What Brian Johnson would bring to the Carolina Panthers

Shane Steichen called the plays for the Philadelphia Eagles as offensive coordinator after head coach Nick Sirianni relinquished the task. That may be the one area where you could have questions regarding Brian Johnson’s potential switch to the Carolina Panthers.

The Eagles decided to bring Johnson down to the field during the 2021 season instead of being up in the booth. Sirianni believed that to be extremely beneficial to the management of in game situations, as well as to Jalen Hurts.

"“So, I think he’s been a great influence on Jalen on the sideline. And then, yeah, I mean, Brian just brings a wealth of knowledge in a lot of different areas; blitz protection, quarterback play, different styles of quarterbacks. So, yeah, Brian’s a major, major key. And I just think we have a really good offensive staff. Can’t say enough about our offensive staff and who we have in that room.”"

He also demonstrated a good understanding of play calling principles during his college career. Not to mention Johnson will most likely have Frank Reich directly involved in that aspect with the Panthers, at least to begin with.

With the NFL season coming to its grand conclusion at the end of this week, all eyes will be on the Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs in Arizona. Every Panthers fans should be closely watching to see how Philadelphia’s offense rises to the occasion on the biggest stage in football.

No matter the eventual outcome, it’s a safe bet to believe the Panthers will be making their move very soon after. And this might be a hard job for Johnson to turn down.
