Cam Newton – Former Carolina Panthers QB

By far the greatest player the team has had at the most important position in professional sports, Cam Newton may very well be the most loved player in Carolina Panthers’ history. The team’s lone NFL MVP and the most electric personality, the signal-caller captivated fans like no other and still holds his place in the hearts of fans.

While the jury is still out on whether Newton still wants to play the game, one thing for sure is that his stint in Carolina will be remembered with love and happiness as we move into the future of the franchise. Superman engineered the greatest seasons in franchise history, as the Panthers became the first team to win the NFC South over three straight seasons during his tenure.

Newton made football feel exactly what it is supposed to feel like: a fun game that we can all enjoy. This was true even when he returned in difficult circumstances in 2021.

With Newton at the helm, Panthers fans felt like we had a chance to win every single game. When it comes to football, if you dislike the former Auburn stud it is either because you don’t like fun or you don’t like seeing your team get destroyed by someone doing it with a smile.

Newton is the franchise’s all-time leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and rushing touchdowns. He also holds the record for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in NFL history.

Even if he never plays another down, Newton’s legacy is unquestioned. One that could end up with a place in Canton when it’s all said and done.
