Carolina Panthers hire Brian Johnson as OC

We just witnessed arguably the greatest Super Bowl in the last 10 years on Sunday. Much of that is owed to Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Hurts, like the aforementioned Lamar Jackson, has battled doubters his entire career and effectively silenced them with the phenomenal performance against the Kansas City Chiefs. Even if it wasn’t enough for the Eagles to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Leading up to the big game, many of the NFC Championship game runner-up San Francisco 49ers players had choice words to say about the Eagles, including Hurts. Robbie Gould even questioned the former Oklahoma Sooner’s ability to play the quarterback position.

How did Hurts answer? With 374 total yards and four combined touchdowns. His yardage ranks third all-time and touchdowns rank first all-time in a Super Bowl loss.

Much of Hurts’ success can be attributed to Brian Johnson. The quarterbacks’ coach is a hot name in coaching, and could very well become Philadelphia’s next offensive coordinator after Shane Steichen became took over at the Indianapolis Colts.

However, David Tepper has made it abundantly clear that he will spare no cost when it comes to building an all-world Carolina Panthers coaching staff for Frank Reich. A promise the owner’s lived up to so far.

Money talks, and if Johnson is as pivotal to Hurts and the Eagles’ success as we think, then Tepper needs to write a blank check to secure his services.
