Carolina Panthers staff has an immediate impact

It’s not hard to see why Frank Reich separated himself from Steve Wilks and other potential head coaching candidates during the interview process. His all-star coaching staff looks tailor-made to make an immediate impact on a promising young roster, with a new offensive coordinator coming into the fold something else that should assist greatly.

After a constant turnover of staff as Matt Rhule looked to relieve the pressure from his own shoulders, this is a refreshing change of pace. Team owner David Tepper promised Reich a high-caliber staff and has clearly spared no expense to make this dream a reality so far.

This is all positive stuff. On paper, at least.

What differences they can make when preparations ramp up will be the biggest deciding factor.

With legitimate NFL experience and a number of ex-head coaches already on board, the transition should be smooth. And this expert level of coaching is something most Carolina Panthers players haven’t had the benefit of during their brief careers to date.

Providing the necessary reinforcements are acquired by general manager Scott Fitterer – who now has full control of personnel for the first time – the sky’s the limit. If the Panthers’ new coaching staff has the impact anticipated throughout OTAs and training camp, it could be enough for substantial improvements with Reich at the helm.
