Who could emerge as potential replacements if the Carolina Panthers cannot retain running back D’Onta Foreman before free agency in 2023?

While there is an enormous amount of excitement in the air thanks to some outstanding coaching arrivals, those behind the scenes will be working hard to ensure the Carolina Panthers have everything in place on the playing side to succeed. A task that’s being led by general manager Scott Fitterer for the first time.

This new approach should bring about more structure and long-term planning. But with money tight right now, some sacrifices must be made by those in power to ensure Carolina has a legitimate chance of winning the NFC South in 2023.

One of the primary objectives is working out an extension with running back D’Onta Foreman, Working out a deal should be straightforward, but the prospect of him walking in free agency cannot be ruled out, either.

If Foreman does seek alternative employment elsewhere, here are four replacements the Panthers could target.

Carolina Panthers could sign Kareem Hunt

While Kareem Hunt comes with some baggage off the field, his talent between the white lines cannot be ignored. And one suspects the dual-threat weapon will want a primary role when he hits free agency after playing second-fiddle to Nick Chubb on the Cleveland Browns.

Hunt’s physical running style and ability to absorb contact are similar traits to what D’Onta Foreman brings to the table. However, this might be out of the Carolina Panthers’ price range when push comes to shove.
