Which Carolina Panthers players stand to benefit most from the appointment of new offensive coordinator Thomas Brown in 2023?

After a lengthy search and a thorough process, the Carolina Panthers have their new offensive coordinator. Thomas Brown is the man trusted with putting together the right foundations alongside Frank Reich, which was another strong addition to what is arguably the NFL’s most accomplished coaching staff heading into 2022.

Brown was a trusted ally of Sean McVay on the Los Angeles Rams in recent years. Coming from this coaching tree brings a significant amount of intrigue to an offense that stuttered at times in 2022 thanks in no small part to inconsistencies under center.

With just one or two more hires to go, it’s not hard to see why Reich came away victorious from Carolina’s head coaching race. Now, there’s just the small matter of finding the right playing personnel to get this franchise trending upwards at last.

It’s an exciting time, there’s no doubt about that. And here are four Panthers players that can benefit most from Brown’s arrival as offensive coordinator in 2023.

Raheem Blackshear – Carolina Panthers RB

The Carolina Panthers got more than they bargained for with Raheem Blackshear. Picking up from the Buffalo Bills practice squad was initially for depth after trading Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers, but he carved out a decent role for himself that left plenty of reasons for encouragement.

Working alongside Thomas Brown and Duce Staley – two coaches who know how to properly develop running backs – is going to do his chances of further progress an untold amount of good. Something that could see Blackshear generate more involvement in 2023.
