When will Carolina Panthers brass speak at 2023 NFL Combine?

When will Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich and general manager Scott Fitterer speak at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine?
The NFL Scouting Combine is officially here and the Carolina Panthers have much work ahead. Not only will those present get to sit down with potential targets from the college ranks, but a recent report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network indicates that influential figures within the organization will host free-agent quarterback Derek Carr during their time in Indianapolis.
This would be a shock from a financial standpoint if nothing else. General manager Scott Fitterer has highlighted his desire to draft and develop a promising player under center, which is a stark contrast from the gambles that caused significant disruption throughout the Matt Rhule era.
Fitterer’s in on every deal mentality and team owner David Tepper’s desire for a productive quarterback means nothing can be ruled out. Whether Carr is a realistic option remains to be seen, but it’s not costing the Panthers anything to find out one way or another.
This is something both Fitterer and Frank Reich might clarify during their media availability at the combine. Although it’s smoke and mirrors season around the league, so nobody knows for sure.
When Scott Fitterer and Frank Reich will speak at the NFL Combine
According to a release made public by Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network revealed when Reich and Fitterer would speak at the NFL Combine. Carolina’s new head coach will talk with reporters at 1.30 p.m on Wednesday, with Fitterer set to take the podium right after at 2 p.m.
Obviously, the main topic of discussion will be the quarterback spot. Especially considering they’ll have already spoken to Carr by this point.
While neither will tip their hand entirely, it’ll be interesting to hear their thoughts on the 2023 class and other potential avenues via free agency or the trade market.
The Panthers are seemingly well-placed to bring in a capable signal-caller. One that can provide an immediate upgrade on anything attained by the likes of Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, and P.J. Walker last season.
This is also an incredible landing spot for any rookie quarterback. Carolina’s coaching staff is loaded with respected figures capable of nurturing talent, so there would be absolutely no excuses for any player within a quarterback room that currently consists of just Matt Corral and Jacob Eason.
It all makes for an interesting few weeks ahead. A time period that will go a long way to determining just how successful Reich can become during his first season as head coach.
There is also a huge amount of pressure on Fitterer, who needs to prove beyond all doubt that Rhule was the thing holding Carolina back and not his own personal involvement in the decision-making process.
The stakes are high. And we should get a better inkling of where the Panthers stand once Fitterer and Reich conclude their respective media engagements at the combine.
