Luke Kuechly is an NFL immortal.

The Carolina Panthers saw one of their own finally get his long-awaited enshrinement into the legendary Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. And perhaps unsurprisingly, the iconic linebacker was full of gratitude.

Kuechly's never been one to hog the headlines or take credit. He's humble, values everyone in the organization highly, and doesn't exactly seek the limelight. Even when he took to the stage for his Hall of Fame speech, his focus was on others rather than himself.

The second-level enforcer spoke about the traditions and the standards set by those who came before. Kuechly felt a great sense of responsibility to add to this trend, especially as a first-round pick. And the Boston College product even managed to raise the already high bar.

This typifies the man. Kuechly was the beating heart of Carolina football during a prolific career that was cruelly cut short. The glittering individual accolades speak for themselves, but the fact that the Panthers haven't come close to replacing his influence speaks volumes.

Kuechly was also the ultimate team player. A leader in every sense of the term and a man revered by teammates and anyone unfortunate to be on the opposite side of the field.

There remains a humbleness to Kuechly that only endears him further to fans.

The quiet, reserved persona away from the field couldn't be any different from the fierce presence between the white lines on game day. Concussion issues brought his NFL journey to an abrupt halt, but Kuechly's exceptional résumé was more than enough to make him one of the youngest players ever to be enshrined.

This also represents a milestone for the Panthers. Kuechly is the first player to spend his entire career in Carolina to become a Pro Football Hall of Famer. Beloved former linebacker Sam Mills and devastating defensive end Julius Peppers are also in, but they played for other clubs during their careers.

Kuechly didn't. He's a Panthers lifer and still works for the franchise now. He is held in the highest esteem by everyone in the organization. And now, his place in NFL history is assured through the ages.

There is nobody more deserving, either.

Kuechly was one of one. He was an outstanding player and an even better man. He was the embodiment of everything good about Panthers football.

And he is now a Pro Football Hall of Famer.
