Michael Penix Jr. still isn't ready. Tua Tagovailoa missed Week 1 with an oblique injury, and he may not be able to feature this weekend either. That would leave Atlanta turning to Cooper Rush again, who has burned Carolina in the past during his time with the Dallas Cowboys.
Prediction: Win (1-1)
This is a game the Panthers can win. However, their run defense must improve significantly to counter the supreme threat Bijan Robinson poses if they want any chance of success.
Carolina Panthers at Browns - Week 3
The Panthers have another good opportunity in Week 3. The Cleveland Browns looked nothing short of abysmal to start the season, with questions already being raised about whether starting quarterback Deshaun Watson will be in the lineup by this point.
The Browns have some talent. They also have one eye on the future after trading stud defensive end Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams. No team should be taken lightly, but the Panthers have the superior talent if they can keep running back Quinshon Judkins in check.

The Panthers should be fresh and raring to go after their bye week. That won't make their trip to the proverbial cauldron of Lincoln Financial Field any easier, but it won't exactly hurt.
While the Philadelphia Eagles managed to beat the Washington Commanders on opening weekend, it could just as easily have gone the other way. They are still strong across the board, especially defensively. But the doubters who reared their heads throughout the offseason haven't gone away.
Prediction: Loss (3-2)
This will be as intimidating an atmosphere as the Panthers will play in all season. They have a chance, but don't be surprised if the Eagles have enough to come out on top in front of their rabid home support.
Still, being 3-2 after five games isn't the worst position in the world.
