Chad Johnson Vows to get Arrested on “Hard Knocks,” Keeps His Promise

A few days ago, I posted an article on here on catcrave.com about the dubut to HBO’s series “Hard Knocks.”

I had said, “on the player’s day off, he (Johnson) vowed to get arrested as he left the facility. Joking, of course, but that’s his personality.”

Apparently, he wasn’t joking.

Police in Davie, Florida arrested Johnson on the charge of misdemeanor domestic violence. Johnson apparently head-butted his wife in the car during an argument on the way home from dinner. His wife, Evelyn Lozada, was treated for a cut on her forehead at the hospital and released.

But that’s not all for the newlywed couple.

Johnson further stepped in it when he revealed to police that the argument stemmed from his wife finding a receipt for a box of condoms in the car….for better or for worse. Oh well, at least the police can’t add any charges of lying to them on Johnson’s account.

With the 34 yr old’s colorful past in the NFL, this is the first time he’s been arrested since he entered the NFL some 12 years ago.

During the offseason, the Dolphins shipped troubled receiver Brandon Marshall to the Chicago Bears in an attempt to remove a distraction from their roster as they rebuild, even though his departure left the franchise without a single “go-to” receiver. They signed Johnson last month in an attempt to remedy the dearth of talent there, but apparently managed to switch one diva wide receiver for another.

On the bright side, Mrs. Lozada refrained from stabbing her husband in the stomach with a knife, unlike the Marshalls.
