After losing in the playoffs to the Seattle Seahawks to end last season, it almost seemed as if the start of the 2015 season would never come.  We had to go through the NFL Draft, OTA’s and a long summer before seeing our Carolina Panthers back in action.  What seemed like a long wait for training camp to get here is over and the first weekend of training camp for the Carolina Panthers is completed.

Training camp is always a hard time – the players deal with the heat, the first hits in months and becoming accustom again to getting into shape.  So after this first weekend, what are a few things we can take away from the Panthers first three days of being back in action?

First, Stephen Hill’s splash with the Panthers, in which he was supposed to make an impact this season,

ended on Sunday.  Earlier last week, Hill made the news after being cited with possession of drug paraphernalia, which essentially you got the feeling he was not going to make the team because of the citation.  Saturday, it was evident when Hill attempted to make a catch over the middle of the field when he twisted his leg and ended up tearing his right ACL.  Ted Ginn Jr.’s words were somewhat of a foreshadowing

“You could hear him screaming.”

Sunday Hill was waived by the Panthers.  Essentially it trimmed the crowded wide receiver spot.
