Ryan Kalil – C

The Panthers veteran center, like linebacker Thomas Davis, has known only one team during his NFL career. Ryan Kalil has anchored the offensive line for over a decade with the Panthers but has missed time over the past two seasons with various injuries.

This year in particular, Kalil missed a significant amount of time with a neck issue after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery which required him to miss eight games last year. He didn’t play versus New Orleans either time during the regular season as Carolina relied on backup Tyler Larsen.

Providing “a calming presence” for Newton when on the field, the Panthers offense could get a boost up front in Kalil’s fifth trip to the playoffs.
