Tight end Ian Thomas has increased his workload every game this year and after another full week of practice, has the potential to shine in Week 5 at home. Replacing an injured Greg Olsen, Thomas and the Panthers offense haven’t missed a beat, leaving no reason to rush the veteran back so long as Carolina keeps winning.

Against Cincinnati, Thomas recorded career highs with three catches for 20 yards. Obviously, those numbers aren’t going to win many fantasy football matchups but the Giants have to prepare for two additional receivers in Byrd and Samuel, which may result in more opportunities for Thomas.

The rookie tight end could also sneak into the end zone for the first time in his career this week as New York focuses on McCaffrey and Newton in the red zone. In addition, Thomas isn’t owned in many leagues and would be a relatively cheap but productive pick up for weekly players.
