The Eagles run defense vs. the Panthers rushing attack

Philadelphia’s rushing defense is one of the best in football. This is similar to last year in the sense that, as good as their offense was, they had an even better defense. Especially given where they are among the league’s best, I would not expect that to change. That trend appears to be similar this season as well.

Currently, the rank No. 5 in the National Football League with 479 yards allowed. That breaks down to 4.1 yards per attempt and 79.8 yards allowed per game. Giving up three touchdowns on the year, that ranks them No. 10 in the National Football League. They are aggressive and come at the backs in a hurry. This should make life difficult for Christian McCaffrey.

He only carried the ball eight times for 20 yards last week. It would be nice if he had a bounce back game on Sunday. He is going to have to find the seams in the defense and try to find running lanes that way. We all know how good he can be once he gets a full head of steam rushing the football. The problem is whether the Philadelphia defensive line will allow him to do that. My prediction is that McCaffrey will struggle, but I hope I am wrong.
