Defense Report Card and Analysis

Defensive Line – B

The Ravens rushed for 101 yards, including a touchdown as Carolina had difficulty stopping the run and especially quarterback Lamar Jackson. They did however generate some pressure with two sacks – one forced a turnover (Kyle Love) and ensuing touchdown drive, but against a depleted offensive line, it wasn’t a stellar performance.

Linebacker – A

There are other linebackers out there not named Luke Kuechly and on Sunday it showed. Shaq Thompson led the defense with 13 tackles as he continually receives more responsibility and playing time alongside captain Kuechly and Thomas Davis.

Secondary – A+

Safety Eric Reid had a sack and his counterpart Mike Adams an interception as this unit played arguably their best game together. Rookie cornerback Donte Jackson was great in coverage all game in addition to James Bradberry and Captain Munnerlyn, who also added an interception, although tight end coverage continues to be an issue for the Panthers.
