Special Teams – A

After two weeks of failing grades, the Carolina special teams rebounded with a solid performance that was referenced as a key to winning this contest. A bit of hesitation on another long field goal attempt before the half ended with a delay of game penalty before quarterback Taylor Heinicke completed his second ever NFL pass for 13-yards, setting up a 54-yard field goal by Graham Gano.

It was good as Gano stretched his league leading streak of consecutive field goals to 28 by the end of the game. Punter Michael Palardy also enjoyed a solid performance aided by Samuel as a gunner on the punt team.

The speedy receiver downed a punt at the one-yard line which resulted in Carolina getting excellent field position on their next possession which resulted in the first touchdown of the game. Palardy also had another punt bounce out of bounds inside the 10-yard line.
