Four Carolina Panthers are listed as questionable and two are already out in Pittsburgh.

A more populated Carolina Panthers injury report was expected having to play on a short week, kicking off Week 10 in Pittsburgh on Thursday. However, the list of names and more importantly, their availability up until this point, is a bit concerning.

Facing the Steelers, who Carolina has beaten only once in franchise history during the regular season, a healthy lineup would be a solid start but unfortunately that will not be the case this week. Nine players appeared at one point or another over the last three days, including starters Cam Newton, Greg Olsen, Ryan Kalil, Mario Addison and Eric Reid.

While no one expects Newton or Olsen to miss any time, the same cannot be said of the final three. Center Ryan Kalil almost missed a play last week after being helped off the field but a challenge review allowed him to be evaluated and remain in the lineup after backup Tyler Larsen was preparing to enter.

Officially listed as an ankle injury, Kalil did not participate in practice any day this week and is questionable for the game. The good news is that as a veteran, it is likely Kalil could still play and show no ill effects of being sidelined – especially during a short week.

Defensive end Mario Addison added three sacks last week against Tampa Bay upping his season total to seven and one-half for the year but also remained on the injury report, battling a shoulder issue. He was a limited participant all week and will likely play again on Thursday.

Eric Reid garnered a similar status and will be put to the test as part of an improving secondary against a Steelers offense that is averaging just over 28 points per game. Going up against a talented group of Pittsburgh receivers, the recent quality play of the Panthers cornerbacks and safeties must continue.

Backup linebacker David Mayo practiced one day (limited) and is officially listed as questionable, while Captain Munnerlyn was a full participant on Wednesday and will be active. Wide receiver Torrey Smith will miss his third consecutive game and defensive end Marquis Haynes is out as well.
