Can the young receivers continue to shine?

Sure, Cam Newton is the center of the offense. That has been made abundantly clear many times. However, the top burning question on Sunday is one you may not expect. Can Curtis Samuel and D.J. Moore keep their high levels of performance up?

At first glance, the short answer would be yes. The Tampa Bay pass defense has not been good this year. They rank No. 6 in the National Football League in passing yards allowed. With 3,017 given up on the season, there are definitely some holes to exploit.

Samuel was productive with the passes he saw last week, catching two of them for 17 yards and a touchdown. Moore caught eight passes for 91 yards. Perhaps even more impressive was the duo’s yards per reception number. More averaged 11.4 yards while Samuel averaged 8.5 yards. We hear all the time about how Christian McCaffrey and Newton need to bring their A-game. I really want to see the two young receivers continue to make a big impact for the Panthers. If they can put up solid numbers again on Sunday, that would really go a long way.
