Carolina Panthers v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Can the defense apply pressure on Jameis Winston?

The Panthers were unable to apply much pressure in Week 1 against Jared Goff. They were only able to sack him once on six pressures.

If the Panthers can apply pressure on Bucs’ quarterback Jameis Winston they might have a good chance at some takeaways. Winston threw three interceptions in his Week 1 matchup against the 49ers. He was also sacked three times.

The Panthers no doubt have some talented pass-rushers with guys like Brian Burns and Gerald McCoy, who will be motivated to make an impact against his former team. Neither of them were able to get a sack in Week 1, but that is likely to change in this upcoming matchup.

If the Panthers are able to apply consistent pressure on Winston they will have opportunities at some takeaways to set up the offense with a short field.
