After missing a kick last week, Joey Slye provided the only offensive points for Carolina with four solid field goal attempts under the lights. Hitting from distances of 32, 37, 51 and 54 yards to end the first half, he continues to impress.
Punter Michael Palardy also continued his solid start to the 2019 season, averaging over 50 yards on five punts but the same couldn’t be said of the punt return group.
Namely due to punt return man Ray-Ray McCloud fumbling two chances, this group suffered. However, once he finally caught one, it was promptly turned into a 39-yard return helping to set up another Panthers field goal.
Carolina goes on the road next week for the first time this season at Arizona Cardinals (0-1-1).
