Kuechly’s legacy with Panthers enhanced by All-Decade selection
By Dean Jones
Legendary linebacker Luke Kuechly was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2010s, which only increases his lasting legacy with the Carolina Panthers.
Not many eyebrows were raised when linebacker Luke Kuechly was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 2010s. He is widely regarded as one of the most ferocious players to ever play the position and produced a level of consistency rarely seen before.
He was thoroughly deserving of his selection to the 55-man roster thanks to his sterling effort during his eight seasons with the Carolina Panthers. Kuechly’s legacy will live long in the memory for those fortunate enough to have seen the player bounce around from sideline-to-sideline on a once-formidable defense.
While Kuechly may have made the right decision to call it a day to avoid health complications in later life. His loss to the Panthers’ locker room cannot be underestimated. The player quickly emerged as the heart and soul of the organization and someone that had no trouble motivating others around him to raise their game.
Although Kuechly did not win a Super Bowl in Carolina after falling agonizingly short in 2015 against the Denver Broncos. That does not tarnish the player’s overall impact in any way.
His community involvement is further evidence of the sort of characteristics Kuechly brought to the Panthers. He is potentially a first-ballot Hall of Famer and was a lock for the All-Decade team.
