Levonta Taylor – CB/S (Florida State)

Levonta Taylor has done well to recover from a serious back injury that threatened his career in 2018. This also resulted in the player moving to the safety spot after he was a high-profile recruit for the Seminoles coming out of high school.

This might have been a blessing in disguise for Taylor. The player gained another string to his bow during his final college year and showed he is more than capable of making an impact in the backfield or at corner.

Getting more reps under his belt will have done Taylor an enormous amount of good from a confidence perspective. There is no telling what impact his injury had on him mentally and he can now go into the NFL with no lingering doubts in the back of his mind.

Taylor is a little on the small size and does tend to have difficulty against bigger receivers. The 5-foot-10 player does tend to take risks given his somewhat diminutive status that can have a detrimental impact on occasions.

One thing that really stands out regarding Taylor is his footwork, which is sharp and light. This allows him to make adjustments seamlessly that could work well at safety or a slot cornerback role.

This versatility is undoubtedly an intriguing prospect to a team like the Carolina Panthers. They need players who can make an impact in different roles and someone like Taylor fits the bill in that sense.
