The Carolina Panthers have plenty of options heading into day two of the NFL Draft, but which way will the franchise go with their picks?

After making a statement in the first round with their selection of defensive tackle Derrick Brown, the Carolina Panthers now turn their attention to a pivotal day two.

There are plenty of ways that the Panthers can go with their two selections. Plenty of first-round graded players fell into the second round and Carolina is in a prime spot to take one of them with the No. 38 pick.

They do also have the option of trading down to acquire more selections, especially if a needy team like a specific player that should have gone higher. This part of the draft is an area where general manager Marty Hurney normally thrives. Hopes will be high once again this time around.

Although the Panthers now look to have a formidable defensive front thanks to the acquisition of Brown ahead of their return to a 4-3 base scheme. They still have glaring needs both at linebacker and secondary. It would be a huge shock if this matter was not addressed in the hours to come.

Another matter that is worth keeping an eye on is a potential trade involving wide receiver Curtis Samuel. If the Panthers are keen on moving the player, they must strike while the iron is hot, so to speak.

This will give them the best possible chance of maximizing value and gaining a possible mid-round pick to use on a replacement in a deep wide receiver class.

It promises to be a fascinating series of decisions awaiting the organization. But which players are they going to end up taking?
