Former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is still looking for a new home following his release, and there could be two logical destinations for the player.

Things have not been easy for former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton since he was released by the franchise. He has found opportunities hard to come by thanks in no small part to the uncertainty surrounding what role the 2015 NFL MVP is willing to accept going forward.

There is also the issue of health to consider for any potential Newton suitors. There appears to be little chance of teams conducting their own independent medical evaluations on the Carolina Panthers’ former No. 1 overall pick in the near future. And this is something that represents a significant problem given the player’s foot and shoulder injuries in recent seasons.

Newton initially declared he was willing to bide his time and wait for a starting role during the season. But recent reports suggest that the player is now keen on backing up somewhere providing it is the right fit.

This opens the number of teams that could possibly be in the running for the dual-threat player. Having someone with the quality Newton possesses would put extreme pressure on any starting option wherever he ends up. And this has the potential to have a detrimental impact on a team’s chances.

There are so many things up in the air regarding Newton’s situation at the present time. The Carolina Panthers gave him little hope of starting elsewhere given the timing of his release. But if the player takes a methodical approach to his next destination then there is nothing to suggest he is not going to thrive when fully fit.

Here are two logical destinations for Newton heading into 2020.
