Carolina Panthers Round 1 pick (No. 16): Marquise Brown – WR

The Carolina Panthers needed someone productive to put alongside D.J. Moore. They found it during free agency in Robby Anderson. But the franchise could have found another premier wide receiver in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Marquise Brown came into the NFL with bundles of promise and duly delivered for the Baltimore Ravens during his rookie season. Despite being part of a run-first offense, the wideout still managed to haul in 46 catches from 65 targets on his way to 584 yards and seven touchdowns.

There is little doubt Brown can take another giant leap forward in 2020. And there is even a chance he can fully emerge as a true No. 1 option given his elite speed and footwork out of his cuts.

The Panthers didn’t exactly draft a bust in 2019. Brian Burns managed to attain eight sacks on a struggling defense during his first season as a pro. And there is a real hope he can break out this time around alongside the likes of Kawann Short, Stephen Weatherly, and No. 7 overall pick Derrick Brown.

That being said, what Brown showed with the Ravens has all the making of a tremendous player at the position. And putting him on the opposite field to Moore would now be considered a mouth-watering proposition.
