Greg Olsen – (Former Carolina Panthers TE)

The Carolina Panthers have a new quarterback to lead them going forward in Teddy Bridgewater. However, it remains to be seen whether the signal-caller has a dependable presence from the tight end spot to go to in critical situations.

Greg Olsen became one of the premier pass-catching tight ends in the NFL during his time with the organization. He formed a prolific partnership with released quarterback Cam Newton, who also could have made the list had it not been for Bridgewater’s potential with more significant time under center.

Although Olsen had trouble staying healthy in recent seasons. When he was at the top of his game, there were few better at the position. The player eventually signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks worth $7 million. And he will look to end his career on a high with a team that has a realistic chance of contending in 2020.

Now that Olsen has moved on to pastures new. Ian Thomas will now finally get a more prominent chance to show what he can do. The player has performed well in the veteran’s absence over the last two seasons. And there is a great deal of expectation regarding his ability to shine with more responsibility.

That being said, having Olsen around to ease Bridgewater’s transition would have undoubtedly been beneficial in 2020. This will become even more prevalent if Thomas fails to deliver on his enormous promise.
