Carolina Panthers: Player No. 5 – Thomas Davis (LB)

Another that can count himself incredibly unfortunate not to have won a Super Bowl with the Carolina Panthers is Thomas Davis. The commanding linebacker enjoyed a standout career with the franchise. But only had one NFC Championship to show for it.

His partnership alongside Luke Kuechly in 2015 was the spearhead behind the Panthers’ becoming a real force at the second level. Davis’ experience at the time provided exceptional defensive communication. And his production was also off the charts.

Davis eventually finished the 2015 season with 105 combined tackles, 75 solo tackles, 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, seven pass deflections, and four interceptions. The fact he managed to have such a successful career after missing the entire 2010 campaign with a serious knee injury just typifies the sort of energy and drive he brought on almost every down.

Unfortunately for Davis and the Panthers, this was the closest either got to lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy together. The linebacker is still plying his trade in the NFL after agreeing to a deal to link up with former head coach Ron Rivera at the Washington Redskins this offseason following a year with the Los Angeles Chargers.

While it appears extremely unlikely that Davis is going to get himself a ring in Washington during what could be his final season as a professional. One he hangs up his cleats, the player can look back at his career with an enormous sense of pride.
