3 reasons why the Browns should sign Cam Newton

The play-action offense
The Minnesota Vikings had an exceptional amount of success running the play-action last season with Kevin Stefanski as their offensive coordinator. This is something that the new Cleveland Browns’ head coach is expected to utilize heavily during his first season at the helm in 2020.
As luck would have it, this is a particular area that former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton excels. He has made a living off making defenses look foolish with his dual-threat ability in running and passing downs. And the player possesses a rare ability to make something out of nothing.
Imagine a backfield that consists of Newton, Nick Chubb, and Kareem Hunt. Having all three on the field at the same time would be almost impossible to stop. And would also open up substantial space for their primary pass-catching threats to work in.
While the Browns appear all-in on making Baker Mayfield their starter for the foreseeable future. Adding Newton would give them another formidable presence and one that would command significant attention whenever he is on the field.
Newton working out with Odell Beckham Jr. has fanned the flames of this particular rumor. And the ways he could be used within Stefanski’s offense are endless. Play-action would be at the top of this list. And in the event Mayfield went down through injury, the Browns wouldn’t miss a beat.
