Carolina Panthers: 2007 NFL Draft do-over (7 rounds)

Carolina Panthers 2007 Draft: Ahmad Bradshaw over C.J. Wilson (No. 226)
The seventh-round is where teams take a player at the position they need and hope he can turn into a solid contributor. The Carolina Panthers took a gamble on CJ Wilson in a bid to bolster their secondary. But he never ended up starting a single game over four seasons.
The steal of the draft was by the New York Giants. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw was almost Mr. Irrelevant before he was selected at No. 226, just five picks before the end of the final round.
Bradshaw became a huge part of the Giants’ offense from the moment he stepped onto the field. He was a part of a two-headed monster in the backfield featuring himself and Brandon Jacobs. And this proved to be the catalyst behind their success during his time with the franchise.
He had two 1,000-yard seasons for the Giants. And his superb consistency saw the player end up sixth all-time on the organization’s rushing charts. Bradshaw was everything New York hoped he would be and more.
If the Panthers had struck gold with their seventh-rounder, it would have given them a two-pronged threat of their own with Bradshaw and DeAngelo Williams. However, this was a very successful draft from Carolina’s perspective even without these corrections. And it stood them in good stead for a fantastic run.
