Carolina Panthers Player No. 1: Teddy Bridgewater (QB)

There’s something about quarterbacks that football fans just can’t get enough of. They are the most important player on the field at all times. And they almost always have the ball in their hands, so it is understandable why many gravitate towards the signal-callers.

Carolina’s new starting quarterback is Teddy Bridgewater and he has a lot of appealing characteristics that go well beyond his play on the football field.

Bridgewater is a quiet motivator that leads by example. His slim 6-foot-2 frame was never supposed to get him too far in the NFL. So he uses his story to inspire others to live up to their potential despite their shortcomings.

Everybody loves an underdog and a comeback story. Bridgewater now has the opportunity for both. On Aug. 30, 2016, the quarterback tore his ACL as well as other ligaments as he suffered what many thought could be a career-ending knee injury.

He was able to start and win five games for the New Orleans Saints in his first action since the gruesome injury last season. This year he finally gets the chance to be a starting quarterback for an entire season with the Panthers.

Bridgewater would be a very interesting person to watch in a reality TV setting. He seems like the perfect candidate to one day have a public role that extends beyond the gridiron. It’s also fun to think of all the possible TV show titles that could be made out of his name.
