Which position groups are under the most pressure for the Carolina Panthers in 2020?
The Carolina Panthers have plenty of uncertainty surrounding their chances in 2020. They are relatively unknown quantity given the changes made across the board this offseason. And having no preseason games to hone chemistry is another element that could be detrimental to their aspirations.
New head coach Matt Rhule is going to get a baptism of fire during his first year in the NFL. The Panthers find themselves in a tough NFC South. And their schedule also sees them come up against plenty of teams that fancy their chances of making a Super Bowl run.
Some areas of the roster look a lot more accomplished than others. It is imperative that Carolina’s coaching staff play to their strengths in 2020. And it could be a long season if certain players coming into starting roles fail to reach expectations.
This is one of the more intriguing seasons in recent memory for the Panthers. And things could go either way regarding their fortunes. How they develop as a unit during the campaign is going to be crucial ahead of another pivotal offseason period in 2021 with more financial resources at their disposal.
Rhule is going to find out in no uncertain terms that coaching in the pros if far different from leading a struggling college program back to prominence. This experience is sure to stand him in good stead. But owner David Tepper will want to see progress at the earliest opportunity due to the ambitious plans being made away from the field.
