What are the key training camp battles to watch for the Carolina Panthers as they make a long-awaited return to the field in the coming days?

This is arguably the most important training camp in recent memory for the Carolina Panthers. With no preseason games on the schedule due to the current climate. It is essential that the roster and coaching staff makes every session count in order to give them a fighting chance of being competitive in 2020.

New head coach Matt Rhule has had his work cut out during his first few months at the helm. The Carolina Panthers bet big that the former Baylor man can lead them back to prominence. But any chance of an immediate turnaround in fortunes has been significantly hampered by a lack of time together with his squad.

Having no preseason games is nothing short of a disaster for the Panthers. They made substantial changes across the board. But those on the roster bubble won’t get the opportunity to catch the eye in a competitive setting.

There appears to be plenty of places up for grabs in Carolina. It is still unclear as to who will start at certain positions. And the players who make their presence felt at camp could be in with a real shot of making the lineup for Carolina’s week one clash against the Las Vegas Raiders.

It promises to be an immensely intriguing few weeks for the organization. And here are five key battles to keep an eye on.
