Which players from the Los Angeles Rams could the Carolina Panthers possibly target in the trade market to boost their fortunes?

The Carolina Panthers are getting ready for a return to training camp after arguably the busiest offseason in franchise history. Their coaching staff and roster are unrecognizable from that which finished the 2019 campaign. And it is going to be interesting to see how everyone clicks in a short space of time together.

Their week one opener against the Las Vegas Raiders is a little over 50 days away. And new head coach Matt Rhule has only met around 20 of the Panthers’ 90-man roster so far. The current climate has dictated this. But it does not detract from what sort of problems can emerge from this unfamiliarity when competitive action resumes.

Add to this a lack of preseason games for starters to perfect their craft or for those on the roster bubble to make their claim. And Carolina is going to be right up against it from the off.

Rebuilds of this magnitude normally take some time. And although the Panthers have made a good start. Other reinforcements will be needed if they want to become a contender once again.

Continuing our feature examining possible Panthers’ trade targets from every NFL team, we now turn out attention to the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Sean McVay is looking for his team to bounce back after a disappointing 2020 campaign. And their fortunes will lie squarely on the shoulders of quarterback Jared Goff.

The former No. 1 overall pick is a polarizing figure. But the Rams showed a significant amount of faith in the player by giving him a four-year, $134 million deal with a $25 million signing bonus and a little more than $110 million guaranteed to lead them going forward.

Whether Goff can do this remains to be seen. And here are three players that the Panthers might be interested in should they choose to go in this direction.
