Who are the most disappointing quarterbacks that have ever been part of the Carolina Panthers during their 25-year history?

The Carolina Panthers have had some tremendous quarterbacks throughout their history. But others promised much and delivered very little.

One doesn’t have to look far at where it all went wrong for some. Providing a consistent presence under center is only something very few signal-callers are able to do at the next level. And the Carolina Panthers have found that out to their cost during their 25-year stint in the NFL so far.

There is no doubt who the best quarterback in team history is. Cam Newton was taken No. 1 overall in 2011 and immediately became the face of the franchise. It did give them a transcendent talent that propelled the team to relevance.

Newton will always be the first name that comes up regarding legendary Panthers’ at the position. He might have left the team in difficult circumstances this offseason. But it does not detract from what an incredible impression the 2015 NFL MVP had in Carolina.

The likes of Jake Delhomme and Steve Beuerlein can also look back on their respective careers with an enormous sense of pride. But the organization has gambled big on some prospects that didn’t turn out as expected, to put it mildly.

We picked out four quarterbacks who could be regarded as the most disappointing in Panthers’ history.
