Are there any Canadian Football League players that could be of interest to the Carolina Panthers after they canceled their upcoming season?

The Canadian Football League has canceled their 2020 season. And this could see a window of opportunity open for the Carolina Panthers.

League officials came to the difficult decision after their request for a $30 million, interest-free loan was rejected by the federal government. This has left the future of the CFL in doubt. And many players will now be seeking alternative employment elsewhere.

This is something that might interest the Carolina Panthers. There are plenty of intriguing players who might be worth bringing in for a tryout during training camp. But time will be of the essence for any potential new recruit coming from the CFL.

We are just a few short weeks away from the Panthers returning to the field in a competitive environment. And this would give any would-be CFL pickup with minimal time to make a lasting impression.

They are not in the NFL for a reason. And given the lack of preseason games that will restrict fringe players from making a lasting impression. It would be very difficult for anyone to come in and make a 53-man roster.

That being said, there could be more opportunities in Carolina than elsewhere due to their lack of expectations in 2020. There isn’t exactly anything to lose by bringing in CFL players for a workout. And they might be able to find a diamond in the rough.

Here are four possible options that might be worth considering for the Panthers.
