Which under-the-radar Carolina Panthers players need to perform during their Week 1 clash against the Las Vegas Raiders?

Today marks the first official action of the NFL season and just three days from the Carolina Panthers making their triumphant return to the field.

It is going to be a campaign full of ups and downs for this new-look group. The Carolina Panthers have their work cut out in the NFC South during the first year of a substantial rebuild and they will need to start well to prevent concerns growing regarding their chances during the campaign.

That might be easier said than done during an offseason that has been one setback and challenge after another. This has been prevalent across the NFL, but given the number of changes across the board in Carolina, it has left a significant amount of trepidation.

The Las Vegas Raiders will fancy their chances at an empty Bank of America Stadium on Sunday. They boast a wealth of talented young playmakers on both sides of the ball and it would be a failure if Jon Gruden’s men were not in the playoff picture at the end of the season.

New head coach Matt Rhule will be relying on his big-time players to make a difference from the first snap to last. The likes of Christian McCaffrey, Kawann Short, Teddy Bridgewater, and D.J. Moore’s talents are there for all to see. But if the Panthers want to secure an opening day victory, they will need some lesser-known members of the roster to make an instant contribution.

Here are four under-the-radar Panthers players who need to perform if they are to start the 2020 season on the right foot.
