4 pleasant surprises for the Panthers vs. Cardinals in Week 4
By Dean Jones
Which members of the Carolina Panthers turned in surprising performances during their Week 4 win over the Arizona Cardinals?
It was an afternoon that will live long in the memory for fans of the Carolina Panthers. After some real struggles over the last 18 months, they can finally look forward to the new era with a sense of enthusiasm rather than skepticism, which is a fine achievement from head coach Matt Rhule after just four weeks of competitive action.
Their 31-21 victory over a playoff contender in the Arizona Cardinals was perhaps even more dominant than the final score suggested. The Carolina Panthers were clinical on offense and their young, athletic players on the defensive side of the ball came up big against the formidable threat of quarterback Kyler Murray to limit his overall influence on the contest significantly.
To think that things might look even better for the Panthers at this stage of the season is remarkable. One could argue they should have beaten the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1, but there are few who wouldn’t have taken a 2-2 record through four weeks of the campaign.
This is a solid foundation from which to build a successful future. The roster has come together and formed a close bond in a short space of time, which is something that is really coming across with their collective efforts on the field.
Let’s take a look at four Panthers players who emerged as pleasant surprises thanks to their respective contributions in Week 4.
