What are some of the key matchups to watch for the Carolina Panthers when they travel to take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 7?

Things will not be easy for the Carolina Panthers this weekend. Their depleted roster will look to cause a major upset at the New Orleans Saints, who are coming off their bye week and should be almost at full strength for the NFC South divisional matchup.

There isn’t much in the way of expectations surrounding the Carolina Panthers, who opened the game as 7.5-point underdogs against a team that still harbors hopes of a deep playoff run despite blowing hot and cold this season. They have some outstanding playmakers on both sides of the ball and it is going to tough ask to keep them all quiet in pursuit of success.

Sunday’s game sees plenty of familiar foes locking horns. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater got his big-money deal in Carolina primarily due to the way he performed under center for the Saints in 2020, going 5-0 with Drew Brees on the sidelines through injury.

Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady spent time in New Orleans as an assistant under Sean Payton before moving to LSU. There won’t be any surprises regarding the scheme for either side, so it will just be the case of who performs better on the day.

Let’s take a look at four key matchups to watch that will play a leading role in any success that comes Carolina’s way.
