4 Carolina Panthers players who finished 2020 on a sour note

Juston Burris – Carolina Panthers S
Juston Burris might be looking over his shoulder this offseason. The safety endured plenty of good and bad moments after arriving in free agency from the Cleveland Browns, but consistency has been a real issue for the veteran in a different environment.
This was especially evident over the final three games. Burris was sluggish in coverage and just didn’t seem to be getting to the required spot quickly enough, which could see the Carolina Panthers move stud rookie Jeremy Chinn back into his preferred position of safety following an outstanding campaign at outside linebacker.
Burris is set to count $4.94 million against Carolina’s salary-cap in 2021, which would represent a saving of $3.9 million if he is moved on this spring. This is just one of many big decisions upcoming for the Panthers and if they do choose to cut their losses where the player is concerned, he cannot have much in the way of complaints.
The former North Carolina State star recorded just nine tackles and nothing else over the final three games despite playing almost every snap.
Burris now faces a nervous wait to find out whether he’ll be part of Carolina’s plans in 2021 and the financial implications involved might be better spent elsewhere with resources coming down thanks to COVID-19 revenue losses across the league.
