4 Panthers players who could be sacrificed to land Deshaun Watson

Teddy Bridgewater – Carolina Panthers QB
This would be a tough sell.
Extremely tough.
Teddy Bridgewater endured a rough ride during his first season under center for the Carolina Panthers. Granted, his protection wasn’t exactly stellar and Christian McCaffrey was missing for most of it. But the simple fact of the matter is the free-agent signing didn’t do enough to convince anybody he can be the team’s long-term answer after they parted ways with Cam Newton.
Now one might think the Texans would scoff at the notion Bridgewater would be included in any potential trade.
However, there is a method to the madness.
This potential trade would also involve Carolina’s first-round NFL Draft pick this year. If Houston opted to take their potential signal-caller of the future in this spot and if they decided not to put too much pressure on any new recruit’s shoulders early on, Bridgewater would be a nice stop-gap for them before he could be released at virtually no cost in 2022.
If Watson forces their hand and makes things difficult, then something like this might be considered. It would also rid the Panthers of the potential problem Bridgewater is currently causing within the fanbase, who never wanted the player to be signed in the first place.
