Jaylen Twyman – DT (Pittsburgh)

This would be a dream come true for the Carolina Panthers if Jaylen Twyman fell into the fourth round. The defensive tackle opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 health concerns and although others may have surpassed him on boards thanks to their play, it might not be the case for much longer once the Pittsburgh standout gets the chance to shine during the assessment process.

The strong production of Zach Kerr and Efe Obada alongside No. 7 overall selection Derrick Brown means this positional group isn’t the big need it once was. However, getting a long-term partner for last year’s first-rounder wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world and Twyman represents a prospect who could slot in at the three-technique and make a real difference if given time to develop.

Twyman will need to hit the ground running to avoid further complications to his draft stock in 2021. But the player’s value at this juncture is unquestioned.

Trey Hill – OG (Georgia)

Trey Hill caught the eye with some dominant performances in 2019, most notably against Carolina’s Derrick Brown, and he backed this up with a strong enough campaign this time around to ensure he could be something of a steal in the mid-rounds. This would also be the third addition to the Panthers’ protection in this scenario, which is especially welcome given the substantial need for quality reinforcements.

Hill will have to work on his recovery ability when he is inevitably beaten by bigger and more imposing defensive tackles at the next level. But there is a lot to like about his ability to come in and make an immediate impression.
