Why this is good news for the Carolina Panthers

Christian McCaffrey coming into next season with a big point to prove is fantastic news for the Carolina Panthers. The running back is an exceptional talent at the best of times, but with extra motivation to prove some doubters wrong, the sky is the limit.

This is all dependent on McCaffrey ridding himself of the injury concerns that blighted his 2020 campaign. He’ll get a substantial period of rest and recuperation in the coming months before OTAs are scheduled to begin, so it’s vital that the player takes good care of himself with a view to hitting the ground running.

Getting McCaffrey back and firing on all cylinders is of critical importance for the Panthers. They might be losing both Mike Davis and Curtis Samuel in free agency, which will limit the options available to offensive coordinator Joe Brady providing he doesn’t get a head coaching job following a series of interviews over the past week.

He should be chomping at the bit.

Of that, there is little doubt.

Getting his title as the NFL’s best dual-threat back after players such as Alvin Kamara were perceived to have overtaken him this season is another carrot to dangle in front of McCaffrey.

The NFL is a what have you done for me lately business. And now McCaffrey gets the chance to show the world that writing him off to a certain extent was a big mistake.
