Round No. 7 (Pick No. 250)

Janarius Robinson – DE/OLB (Florida State)

Although there isn’t much in the way of quality production where Janarius Robinson is concerned, this could be down to the way he was utilized at Florida State and not his athletic ability. The edge rusher has tremendous length and provides an assured presence against the run, which is another standout feature of his game that shouldn’t be overlooked.

The Carolina Panthers struck gold when they looked towards the Seminoles for stud defensive end Brian Burns in 2019, so picking up Robinson at this stage of the NFL Draft is a low-risk, high-reward selection.

Round No. 7 (Pick No. 257)

Olaijah Griffin – CB (USC)

As part of the trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Carolina Panthers get the final pick of the NFL Draft. Olaijah Griffin might go a lot higher than this thanks to his supreme physical traits and impressive progression when it comes to coverage, so if the opportunity presents itself, Carolina should bring him on board with a late-rounder.

Griffin’s competitive streak makes him a force to be reckoned with in coverage. He is a tremendous contribution in press coverage situations, which the Panthers definitely need if they want to move away from Phil Snow’s frustrating soft coverage scheme. So providing the cornerback can eradicate some errors in judgment against receivers who will punish every mistake, someone is going to have a real player on their hands.
