Which NFL teams could possibly look to take defensive lineman Efe Obada from the Carolina Panthers in free agency?

There promises to be plenty of activity where the Carolina Panthers are concerned during free agency. General manager Scott Fitterer is keen to take a patient approach and wait for some potential bargains in the current financial climate, but the new appointment would be wise not to wait too long if he wants to bring in the right sort of quality that can help the organization progress in 2021.

Not only do the Panthers have plenty of positional groups that need to be strengthened. But there is also the small matter of resolving the futures of current members of the roster in the coming weeks.

This will be easier said than done where some are concerned, especially with the eight percent reduction in the salary-cap. However, in Efe Obada‘s case, it’s something they need to get done at the earliest possible opportunity.

Carolina Panthers could use Efe Obada back in 2021.

The defensive lineman is coming off a career year that saw him display the sort of progression and versatility that is normally a hot commodity across the league. Obada gained 5.5 sacks and caused plenty of disruption both on the edge or as a three-technique defensive tackle, with his likable character another strong influence on a young group that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Obada is a restricted free agent and wasn’t given a tender by the Panthers. While he was facing an uncertain future at the start of last season, the Nigerian-born player’s stock has never been higher, and is sure to get a few offers in the coming days to tempt him away from Carolina.

With that being said, let’s examine which teams might be potential landing spots for Obada during free agency.
