It might be something of a surprise to see Rasul Douglas sitting on the free-agent market. FanSided‘s national NFL insider Matt Lombardo stated there would be a strong market for the player, but teams have yet to pull the trigger despite some encouraging production from the cornerback before faltering down the stretch.

Douglas has plenty to offer in the right fit. However, this is set to be a very deep class for players operating at his position who’ll come with far less in the way of financial commitment to boot.

This simply cannot be ignored with money tight around the league. But there are going to be teams that miss out on the corner target of choice during the draft and Douglas represents a solid option for anyone looking for short-term assistance.

The former Philadelphia Eagles standout has proven credentials to slot in at a moment’s notice and with little in the way of preparation time to make a real difference. His level of performance during the first few games of 2020 for the Panthers left plenty of reasons to be encouraged, which he was sadly unable to continue down the stretch.

Once the draft concludes and teams assess what they potentially need from the free-agent market, then it should see Douglas find a spot elsewhere.
